MY BABY IS ONE!

Its official, I've been a mom for a year now. And its a HUGE milestone. Exactly a year ago I was in the labour room waiting for my life to change. After 9 hours of shivering under the blankets because of the epidural, he popped. The baby that has been kicking me every single day since 6 months is finally out and still kicking... Finally able to hear his first cry, definitely the most heart wrenching moment for papa and momma.

Motherhood is more than just having a cute baby that makes you go aww~ everyday. I traded in so many things for my little baby. Pretty clothes and shoes for milk powder. Beautiful tummy for a saggy tummy with stretch marks. Crazy nights for a slow and quiet night beside him. Shopping weekends for nothing but play all day. Every single thing is worth it even if papa have to call me a tiger because of my stretch marks.

So on the very special day, here is what Momma have to say to you..

Baby, you've been quite an easy baby since day one. Before you were born, you didn't give me any morning sickness, no nothing but just joy. Even when I was in labour, just 15 secs of push and you were out. Even the gynae said you are such an awesome baby. You eat anything and everything that I give you. You go to bed without having to be shake or carried anymore.

Every morning I wake up with you shaking the baby cot beside me trying to wake me up to play. You look at me like I'm your whole world and yes baby you are my everything.. You chuckle at every little thing even when i sing a silly song. You point at everything you know. I don't know if a 12 month old baby knows this but I'm surprised that you know how to raise your legs when you want to wear your shoes.

I love how you answer the phone with the headphone at the back of your head because the headset is too big for your ears. Love how you try to run even before you can walk. And how you're trying to walk step by step before hugging me real tight when you reach me.

This is gonna go on if I don't stop.

Jaydee, thanks for coming into this world to let me know how strong I can be. This may sound cliche but you son, is my everything.

Little index finger.

Been very busy with Jaydee's One year old birthday celebration. And it's happening in 5 days!

My sisters is helping me with the preparation as well.. so i really don't why I am always complaining I'm busy. So many things to be done actually.

Anyways, recently he has been able to walk a few steps without support. He learned how to point at things, everything and anything! He points at wherever he wants to go. He points at things he love. He points at the phone when he wants to talk on the phone. He points at the ice cream man downstairs and shakes his hands in the air like "ling ling ling". He points at the door when he wants to go out. He just made use of his new found skill very well because Mummy would give you anything and everything I can.

Oh dear, he is growing so fast that one day I just casually ask "Where is your nose baby?"... thought he would ignore me like usual. He pointed to his nose. Smart smart.

In the playpen. Half of the time he'll be screaming the house down and the other half bouncing around slamming his face against the net.

Today I put my face from the outside to show him how funny he look. He laughed.

Blow my whistle mom!

Sounds wrong but No. Heres the story.

My baby seems to be the nonchalant kind. He is an intelligent boy which makes him really inquisitive. I can't say its a bad thing but its gonna be a huge headache when he grows a little older. Right now, he seems to be learning so fast.

I was feeding him lunch yesterday and he or rather we have the habit of giving him things to read or play during mealtimes to keep him entertained because TV is a no-no. Still practising the "no-leaving-highchair-during-meals" rule.

As usual gave him all the things we could find around the house. Then I passed him a whistle which I thought nothing about, he usually just shakes the whistle or throw it away even after teaching him how to blow it. Then he held the whistle and pointed it to my mouth like "Mom, blow it for me please.". With that baby look... I was taken aback, jaw literally dropped.

He has also learned how to blow the whistle. Hoping he will know how to blow his first birthday cakein a few weeks time!

First and not fun!

Was shopping last week and found this non toxic pain for kids/babies from crayola.


Thought Jaydee would enjoy his first painting. Did it today and I conclude that he hates painting. Just did a few footprints and he decided to whine. Didn't have any chance to get messy even if I gave him the green light.

Well, another time ok baby? Your footprints are too adorable to stop. Mama wants to have your handprints too!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fly time fly..

It's the 7th again. Another month has passed..one more month to xmas again. Feels like christmas was just last week. I can still remember the turkey on the table and the amount of ham my mum bought. The log cake and weirdly we had "lo hei" too.

One more month to Jaydee's big one and I'm in the midst of being an awesome mom. Although he he won't be able to remember any of it but I hope he'll appreciate and enjoy by not being a grumpy boy.... Just wait for the surprise everyone. 

Jaydee at 11 months - Climb up the sofa without support. Still blabbering. Papa mama daddy, seems like he knows who daddy is. He prefers music more than cartoon. He shakes his head when we say no but recently he learned another word for no - cannot. Wave goodbye. Give hugs. Dance to shalalalala (just waving of hands in the air). Has finally learned that a phone is to be put at the ear and not in the mouth. Drinking from straw cup! The most exciting milestone he has reached as of now-  First baby steps without support.

Baby, you are almost a year old and I don't expect you to know this.. but I love you so much. Happy 11 months Jaydee Boy.

Is it just me? I love taking picture when my baby is asleep. Although the old folks tale say no but heck, that's the only time I get to capture those kissable face.

Weather is ridiculously hot this few days. Can't get pass a day without sweating..

Was at Jaydee's yi po house on Friday and even wearing romper, he was sweating. Didn't bring extra thin clothing for him so we found a female singlet for adult.


Tied the strings and tadah! I realised my baby look quite pretty in a dress and hairband.

 

 

 

 

Yay to public transport

Sunday was kasandra's birthday(eldest sis) and we celebrated at Rakuzen. Meal was fantastic.. Baby couldn't get enough of the chawanmushi.

The weather was so bad, kept raining so plans of taking the mrt was cancelled.

Earlier in the morning, met my dad for lunch and we took the mrt. And it was Jaydee's first train ride! Surprisingly he loves the ride. Even on the bus, he would just stay still in my arms and just enjoy the ride.

For some reason, he hates taking the cab. Since the day when he knows whats going around him, he cries the moment we step into the cab. Don't know how to enjoy life!

Baby you sure know how to save money for mummy huh?
